My Predictions for 2012

OK Folks It’s time for me to break out the crystal ball and hit you all with some of my predictions for the coming year. Check back on NYE 2013 and see if I was full of it.

THE SAFE BETS

1). The iPhone 5 will not disappoint those who like myself are waiting for the next big thing from Apple.

2). Because of the success of the Kindle Fire ALL tablet prices will move closer to the $200 price point.

3). Calvin Harris, Deadmau5, and Swedish House Mafia will all have HUGE albums in 2012.

4). Apple and Google will try to wow us with their new TV related products, but Amazon will disrupt the whole ball of wax with the next version of the Fire bundled with their Prime service.

5). Touchscreens will be everywhere.

6). The EU gets its act together BUT Arab Spring nations like Egypt will descend into chaos.

7). The world will NOT end at the end of the Mayan calendar.

8). Increased belt-tightening at the major television networks will cause many surprise cancellations of beloved shows.

THE NOT SO SAFE

1). Ultra Music Festival might jump the shark in 2012 particularly if there are NO major EDM artist releases OR if more artists pull a SHM and run their own mega shows.

2). President Obama very narrowly wins reelection (get ready for hanging chads part 2).

3). Summer 2012 gas prices hit the highest price yet which finally kills off (for good ) the SUV.

4). There will be a major hit film released that had shoestring budget and shot entirely with prosumer gear.

5). “The Hobbit” will be HUGE but “Hunger Games” will disappoint.

6). Hollywood will look like the land of the dead reboot by the end of the year. All their attempted film reboots will fail at the box office.

7). Wearable computer gear will become a hot new area of tech sales.

THE CRACK POT-ISH

1). There will be one indisputable UFO sighting this year that will confirm (and scare the heck out of folks) that we are not alone.

2). The unemployment rate will be closer to 7.5% by the end of the year.

3). Major weather events will rock North America.

4). Concerns of economic injustice will grow and block many large corporations from engaging in predatory practices to increase their bottom line (Hello Verizon!).

THE PERSONAL

1). I will get married to the most beautiful and lovely woman I know
